When I was a kid, my parents let me listen to my transistor radio all night. I remember that soft glow from the dial on my nightstand.
The idea for this had been percolating for awhile, and frankly I was struggling a bit with the words. I was hoping to find a lofty quote, but the few I found were longer than I wanted (paragraphs, really).
Then I came across a song by the Beach Boys called Magic Transistor Radio. It’s not even really a song, and I’ll tell you right now, I’ve never been a Beach Boys fan. However, the words fit the look I was after–a 60’s and 70s groovy/mod feel.
The main art was done on my iPad Pro with the Procreate app. The screen overprint effect was done with Retro Supply’s Ultimate Screen Printing Kit.
Is there something you’d like me to write about? Drop me a line and let me know what you’re struggling with.
